Meetech Spain 2023 "Technology Challenge" award

Last May, the Meetech Spain 2023 meeting was held in Madrid, organized by the Spanish Federation of Technology Centers. The meeting is presented as a showcase of the capabilities of the Technology Centers, in which the challenges and opportunities of R&D&I are also discussed the challenges and opportunities of R+D+i. One of the highlights of Meetech Spain 2023 was the "Technological Challenge" proposed by Enagás. Nearly 100 researchers and technologists worked in twelve multidisciplinary teams to develop an innovative solution for the detection, mitigation and quantification of emissions from the infrastructures through which natural gas is transported. Market orientation, imagination and risk in the designed initiative were criteria for deciding the project initiative were criteria for deciding the winning project. The Jury selected as the winner the team in which our colleague Alfredo Pacheco Tanaka participated, as well as 3 people from the technological centers ITENE (Comunidad Valencia), CIRCE (Aragón) and CIRCE (Aragón), CIRCE (Aragón) and the University of León, who proposed a self-repairing coating of paint with polymers that solidifies and changes color on contact with gas.
