The recognition gives us the award for the best initiative promoted by Technology Centers for our membrane technology, which led to the launch of our investee company H2SITE.
Last Thursday, December 2, the D+I Innovation Awards 2021, organized by Disruptores e Innovadores - El Español, were held. The event brought together more than 300 people, making it the largest event in the digital sector in Spain since the pandemic broke out. During the event TECNALIA received the award for the best initiative promoted by Technology Centers or Science Parks. André Galnares, CEO of H2SITE and Alberto Silleras, Director of TECNALIA Madrid, received the award from Raul Martinez, CEO of Sothis.
H2SITE is a startup dedicated to the on-site generation of high purity hydrogen that was born a year ago from TECNALIA, through our Deep Tech Venture Builder TECNALIA Ventures, and in collaboration with the Eindhoven University of Technology and the French energy company ENGIE. Hydrogen is the most abundant element on our planet, but the challenge is to generate it on a large scale and in a sustainable way. The technology used by H2SITE replaces the traditional hydrogen electrolysis process with membrane reactors that obtain hydrogen from different raw materials such as ammonia, bioethanol, biomethanol or biogas.
