Abstract

Childhood obesity is a multifactorial disease conse- quence of an interaction among a complex set of factors that are related to the environment, genetics, and ecological effects such as the family, community, and school. Interventions tailored to high risk determinants at an early age can prevent or limit the excess weight gain.
