Research output: Patent

Abstract

The present invention relates to an asymmetric hollow-fiber membrane for gas separation, comprising at least one support layer and at least one gas separation layer, the support layer and the gas separation layer being made of a composition comprising more than 70% by weight of a copolymer comprising polyamide blocks and flexible polyether blocks, wherein: - the polyether blocks comprises blocks derived from polyethylene glycol (PEG), polypropylene glycol, polytrimethylene glycol, polytetramethylene glycol or mixtures thereof, preferably polyethylene glycol, - the polyamide blocks comprises at least a unit derived from polycondensation of at least one lactam, of at least one aminocarboxylic acid or of at least one diamine and at least one dicarboxylic acid, and - the ratio of the thickness of the support layer to the thickness of the gas separation layer is from 1.49 to 10,000. The invention further relates to the process for producing the asymmetric hollow-fiber membrane.
