Abstract

In this work the development of an optical fiber glucose sensor based in Electrostatic Self Assembly technique using phenylboronic acid as glucose's related molecule is shown. Two important characteristics of this sensor are the response time, which is located between 2-6 seconds and the range of detection, which goes from 1mM to 1M, although it is possible to increase the sensivity by adjusting some parameters of the deposition. The main advantage of this device is the fact of not using biological substances to detect, since its life time is higher than others which exist nowadays.
