Abstract

In this study, the generation of spent concentrated baths and rinse waters produced in the factories of the electroplating industry in Guipuzcoa, which discharge waste continuously, is evaluated in view of their special importance resulting from the potential contaminating load represented by the metal ions contained in them. The analysis is based on a study of fourteen factories of the electroplating sector, for which detailed data are presented concerning the volume of waste discharged and the metals that it contains. These data are extrapolated to other factories of the same sector.
