Abstract

This paper presents the field trials carried out in Barcelona (Spain) for testing the reception of DVB-T2 with multiple PLPs in urban mobile environments. A key aspect of these trials is the capability to measure different configurations of DVB-T2 at the same time and with the same reception conditions. It is possible thanks to the new feature included in the standard and called multiple PLP. These Physical Layer Pipes allow the allocation of several services with different robustness in the same multiplex. For this paper DVB-T2 signals with 3 PLPs have been measured and the results will show the performance of each PLP in the complex urban mobile reception scenario.
