N2 - Energy Communities are a subject undergoing intense study in Europe and Spain. The Spanish case was studied, considering the new electricity tariff (BOE-A-2021-21208). Participant sizing gives an insight into how beneficial an Energy Community can be for potential members. In this paper, an Energy Community with a first-price sealed-bid auction was modelled as rule-based and further simulated in MATLAB for different households (from 50 to 1800 households with a gap of 250). These community sizes were compared to a scenario in which the household would participate in a schema of Collective Self-Consumption. The results addressed that although Energy Community sizing was scenario dependent (at an auction-based schema, different bidding matches were obtained at each sizing), it obtained better results than Collective-Self Consumption. The most significant billing decrease for Energy Communities was up to 2.92 % at 800 households, exports minor up to 0.82 % for 300 households, and the least imports, 1.93 % reduction, were obtained at 300 households.
