Abstract

This document outlines the results of a study of typical design approaches for cross laminated timber applied in practice. A global overview of the experience of engineers with CLT design, typical verification methods and the implementation of the material into finite elements software are given. In addition, an outlook to problems in complex design situations relevant for multi-storey buildings and thus potential research fields are indicated. Hence, this document serves as a basis for future research on cross laminated timber for multi-storey buildings globally.
