Abstract
The influence of the nanocrystalline fraction on the saturation magnetostriction of Fe66Cr8Cu1Nb3Si13B9 alloy has been investigated. The nanocrystallization process in the ribbon was carried out by current annealing. The magnetostriction constant of the nanocrystalline samples has been evaluated using the stress dependence of the reciprocal initial susceptibility. The results obtained show how the presence of two phases in the partially crystallized material determines the magnetoelastic behaviour of these samples.
