Abstract

In this paper, a hybrid flux weakening control strategy based on a vector space decomposition (VSD) model is presented for asymmetrical dual three-phase interior permanent magnet synchronous machines (IPMSMs). This strategy incorporates a voltage magnitude feedback loop, which provides robustness against deviations in the electrical parameters of the machine, by acting on the angle of the current vector; and a feed-forward to improve the controller action. In parallel, the current vector is analytically determined in a normalised system. Simulation results that evaluate the performance of the controller over standardised driving cycles demonstrate the validity of the proposal.
