Abstract

This research develops a temperature control that may be used for the design of an aluminium moulding machine taking into account the dynamics of the thermal behaviour. Therefore an implementation of a temperature's acquisition system in a foundry's mould is presented in order to obtain a more precise mathematic model Thanks to this information we will have a deeper knowledge about alloy's liquid-to-solid changes. This transformation is critical in very short periods due to the necessity of an uniform cooling speed. Because of the lack of neither symmetry nor uniformity shape it is difficult to accomplish this. For a fast cooling a water cooling system inside the mould is required The design of the mould is the most important part because the water cooling conduits must be very well calculated.
