Abstract

Ligand exchange reaction between catecholamines and sulfosalicylic acid (SSA) in the ternary complex, [Tb(SSA)EDTA]^4- leads to switch the luminescence signal, providing a simple detection system of catecholamines available in an aqueous solution.
