Abstract

Many different communication protocols are used in the industry for automation activities. Here it is shown the experience of the last years related to how to prepare students towards facing this challenge, by teaching some widely used protocols and programming tools integrated in a final project that the students must solve in pairs. In addition, the assessment of the subject has been optimized towards increasing the implication of students in the different parts, something that has been studied by analyzing the evolution of the marks.
