Resumen

On 18 Cr/8Ni low carbon stainless steels experimental plates 20 mm thick were prepared. In these plates a part of the Ni was substituted by the addition of N and/or Mn. The austenitic structure of plates was respected. These plates had been welded by SAW (matched experimental weld metals) and by EBW processes. ASME IX welding qualifications were performed after the welding operations. These plates were heat treated at 750°C(1023°K) for 1,10 and 100 hours. In these sensitized conditions, and in as-welded condition also, ISO Charpy V and CTOD tests had been conducted. The base metals, the SAW welds and the EBW zones were tested. The differences in the microstructure influence the behaviour of these welded joints.
