Aluminium casting alloy comprising 9.0-11.5% by weight of magnesium, 4.5-7.0% by weight of silicon, 3.2-6.5% by weight of copper, 0.15-0.40% by weight of iron, 0.15-0.40% by weight of manganese, less than 0.4% by weight of zinc, less than 0.25% by weight of titanium, less than 0.15 of any other alloy element, and aluminium as a balance, with the proviso that the content of Fe is equal to or lower than the content of Mn. And a process for thermally treat said alloy and a method for obtaining it.
