Resumen
The results of the European ESPRIT project 8823 Discrete Cell Control (DCC) are presented. The project aimed to define the reference architecture of a cell controller, describing the required communication and information infrastructure, the applications and the engineering support. Based on the architecture, called DCC-Core components, an engineering methodology and a set of supporting tools were developed and validated on two industrial target cells. The DCC-Core system enable engineers to easily and quickly develop their own cell controller, using or tailoring the core applications based on the integrating infrastructure application programming interface (API).
