Process for preparing Xonotlite functionalized with at least one Polyalkylene Glycol, and functionalized Xonotlites, compositions and uses thereof

The present invention relates to a process for producing functionalized xonotlite, more particularly, xonotlite functionalized with at least one polyalkylene glycol. It is also related to xonotlite functionalized with at least one polyalkylene glycol of formula R-O-(CαH2αO)β-H (I), wherein R is hydrogen or an aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, a cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon group having 5 to 8 carbon atoms, or an aryl group having 6 to 14 carbon atoms. It also relates to a composition comprising said xonotlite functionalized with at least one polyalkylene glycol of formula (I), as well as to the use of said composition for accelerating the setting and hardening of cement or mixtures comprising cement.
