Resumen

This work explores the feasibility of incorporating Perovskite Photovoltaic (PPV) cells into Internet-of- Things (IoT) devices. The aim is to enable these devices to both receive data and harvest energy simultaneously, thus creating a dual self-powered IoT node. We have characterised a PPV that can be used for data reception and energy harvesting simultaneously. We have analysed the data reception capabilities of the PPV of 1mm2 of the active area. In this work, we propose an equivalent electric circuit for the PPV used as a receiver, and determine its frequency response. The results show a bandwidth of,...,120 Hz a 1mm2 PPV. The energy harvesting module is based on the active area of 4,000 mm2 of the same PPV, which improves the autonomy of the IoT node by 42 and 81 % for indoor and outdoor environments, respectively.
