System and method for acquiring electrical signals from a subject

A system and a computer-implemented method for acquiring electrical signals from a subject, the system comprising: a) at least one electrode (10), the electrode comprising: a support (12) configured to be partially implanted onto the skin surface (2) of a subject at a dermal or subdermal depth through its proximal end (124), and registering means (14) provided on the proximal end (124) of the support (12) and configured to register an electrical signal associated to an event below the skin surface; and b) a mount (20) configured to be placed over the skin of a subject, the mount (20) comprising: at least one electrically conductive surface (22) on the internal face (20a) of the mount (20); and processing means (24) configured to process the signals obtained through the at least one electrically conductive surface (22). The support (12) of the at least one electrode (10) is essentially longitudinal, the at least one electrode (10) further comprises conductive means (15) configured to electrically connect the registering means (14) on the proximal end (124) with the distal end (128) of the support (12); and the mount (20) is configured to electrically interface with the conductive means (15) at the distal end (128) of the at least one electrode (10) through the at least one electrically conductive surface (22) and process the electrical signal registered by the registering means (14) through the processing means (24).
