Resumen

This paper discusses the validation approach applied in the eCoMove project (a large scale EU 7th Framework Programme project). In this project, applications are developed that on the one hand optimise network-wide traffic management and control, and on the other hand advise drivers on the most efficient routes and assist them in applying an eco-friendly driving style. The applications are validated using different test methods: with (small scale) field trials, driving simulator studies and microscopic traffic network simulations. In order to perform a consistent and integrated validation and impact assessment, a validation approach based on the FESTA methodology was developed that combines all these elements. The aim is to validate whether a complete eCoMove system can reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 20%.
